i have my ranger just sitting there due to either a blown head gasket or a cracked cylinder head. i just rebuilt it from the lower intake manifold up. WOULD ANYONE GIVE ME SOME HELP AS FAR AS...SHOULD I REBUILD THE 2.9 FROM GROUND UP OR SWAP IN A 4.0 FROM ANOTHER RANGER...I LIVE IN CALIFORNIA AND SMOG IS A PAIN TO WORRY ABOUT

First of all, you don't need all caps.... Its annoying. Does California outlaw engine swaps like that? Since yours is a 90, a 4.0 swap is pretty simple.

Sorry to hijack this thread, I have been wondering it you can swap a 4.0L into a 1988 ranger.
