I have a 91 ranger with a 2.9 out of a 90 brII.When i start it first thing in the morning it fires right up then immediately stalls:annoyed:.It has a new fuel pump, filter, relay, pressure regulator.

Clean the throttle body and idle air control the best way is to pull it off spray/soak it with carb cleaner and blast it good with the hose. Make sure you get a new throttle body gasket to put it back together first. It will probably just help to clean around the butterfly and the IAC might be sticking but I would start there.

does anybody have any other suggestion?
i cleaned the iac and no difference i also didn't mention this a non EGR/MAF engine and i have done the K&N filter mod

Does it still stall if you hold the throttle partway open?

i will try that tomorrow and if it's about 40 or above it will just stumble and then smoothe out to a steady idle and yes i've replaced the temp sensor

Does it restart without problems?

Mine does that when it is cold, it lives outside.

Pull codes to see if it has a registrable issue.

start stalls then starts and runs fine and rest of the day it's no problem
