2.9L Cam/Crank Alignment

Can anyone assist on showing me a good picture of proper cam and crank timing alignment. Short block came back with both pointing at each other cam to the bottom crank to the top(near as possible). Can anyone elaborate or direct me to the info if it is here on the site I cannot find it. Thanks.

Yes, that looks like correct timing

Crank gear at 12:00 and Cam gear at 6:00, that's TDC for #1 cylinder
Both at 12:00 also works, that would be TDC for #5
Either is correct for valve/piston timing in a Ranger 2.9l

Your diagram image is a 2.8l engine, no timing chain just timing gears

Thanks @RonD just the info I needed. Now while questioning is there a short piece of gasket available for lower plenum just silicone?

The lower intake at both ends can use short rubber gaskets or just RTV to get a good seal, there is no pressure inside in "the valley" its just to keep dirt out and oil splashes in

Yeah I knew it was Silicone when I pulled it apart but I think it was just too hot yesterday lol. Had the RTV in the fridge and everything. Splooge it on, grab intake, silicone running everywhere ha I gave up on it..
