Probably not. You aren't planning to fix it are you? I think you could get new heads for $500. Used ones wouldn't be worth the risk. A used engine might be worth the risk if you got it cheaply enough and are handy at swapping engines.

A 4.0 has better parts, is a lot stronger, is a difficult, but very doable swap.
 
Im having trouble finding running 4.0s in my area, plus I have a mitsu 5 speed in my ranger
 
I would just swap the heads and call it a day. As long as you didnt run it long like that, that is.

Just get some cheap oil and flush out the nastiness the best you can.
