I have a 92 ranger 2.9 4x4. the motor runs amazing. original motor with only 180xxx km. I was wonder if the 2.9 would be alright to run with 31s. i was thinks on getting Goodyear Wrangler Territorys.. oh ya there's a 3 inch body lift on there too

"MyQuarterStroke",

The 2.9 liter will turn 31's, you may want to consider regearing though. The first two tire changes I did caused increased fuel loss (from the factory 26" to 30.5" then, subsequently to 32.5"). I wasn't able to recover the lost mileage until I regeared to correct for the tire size change.:icon_cheers:

Yeah it'll turn them fine. But you will lose some fuel economy. When I made that jump I went from 17mpgs around town to 13-15 depending on how heaviy my foot is. My truck is runnin 3.73's and 31's

I run 31x10.50/3:73 in my 89 Bronco II - still get amazing gas mileage...BUT BUT BUT For god's sake watch your wheel bearings! Yesterday I almost died - I actually need to post up about it! DONT USE VALUE CRAFT/CRAP brand what ever you do! Otherwise all is well.

I'm running an 88 Ranger 2.9L with 7" Suspension 1" Body lift on 31x10.50's with stock d28 and it pushed them just fine. I would like to re-gear it eventually, but it runs fine like it is.
