2.9 tranny problems

Ok, I have a 88 b2 with 5spd and a 2.9 bored 30 over. I just replaced the tranny and now this one seems to be bad too. My question is will any of the other manual v6 transmissions fit such as the 3.0 or the 4.0. Any information would be really helpful.

The M50D-R1 from a 4.0L ranger/ explorer will bolt right up and is a ton stronger
