2.9 to a 2.3

OK, I know this sounds a little different wanting to swap a 2.9 out for a
2.3 but here's the reason and I hope I didn't post this on here somewhere else but I don't think so.

My 2.9 in my 90 BII 4x4 is shot. I have access to a complete 2.3 turbo Coupe very very cheap. It would be the complete entire car so wiring harness access is not a biggy.

I understand from other sources I may have some problems trans wise as to fitment and the t-case.
I do wheel this occasionally and will probably have my little plow on it this year, so doing away with the t-case is not an option.

need some advice, so I come to the experts on the little trucks.

tranny aint that big a deal if you can find a used 4-cyl 5-speed trans out of a ranger.

I think it would be a pretty cool swap

Another thing you could try is to get a bw t-5 trans and transfer case out of a s-10 and switch the input shaft and bell housing from the t-bird tranny or the other way might be to put the output shaft and tail housing from the s-10 into the t-bird tranny. I've always been curious if you could actually do this and will probably try it myself 1 day

It's just a idea but maybe worth a try.

Any chance you have access to that 2.3 turbo coupe for very very cheap? i'm looking for one.
