2.9 to 4.0?

I have a 86 ranger 2.9 finally gave out on it. I have a 4.0 laying around would it be possible to use basically just the intake.injectors.ditributor, etc etc off the 2.9 on the 4.0? I didn't know if the cam had a proper drive gear for a distributor. would this be possible?

I don't believe you be able to use any of the parts off off the 2.9.
