2.9 Squirrel Damage

I have an 89 bronco 2 with the 2.9 and went to drive it it today after its been sitting for a couple of weeks. Popped the hood to hook up battery and found a squirrel nest and some chewed wires. Nothing was too awful except for the yellow block with red wires. I thought it may be a fusible link but I can't find any other picture of this out there. Thanks ahead of time.

Can you clean up the box a little more, looks like there is a Resistor symbol on it

Two wires in and one wire out could be for Coil + power

I'll see what I can do with it. It's a solid molded piece and it's a bit chewed up. The truck was running fine but I will pay closer attention to my gauges tomorrow to see if they all work.

As far as I know the only non factory wiring on here since I got it in 2000 was an amp way back when.

It’s factory . Suppose to be taped to harness . If my memory serves me right it’s a Diode .

Diode uses this symbol -->|--
And Diodes don't generate much heat so smaller "packages"
If you have a vehicle with AC there is a Diode on the AC Clutch between the 2 wires, not a big part

Resistors use an up and down line symbol /\/\/\/\
And they generate heat so have larger "packages"

The Factory wiring diagram should tell what it is . I will try to check later . Which ever one it is it must need it . Can’t read any symbols on it .

So I'm guessing this is a diode. For what I don't know. I can't reuse this one either because it's chewed off so close to the casing.

Diode and a resistor. Close work, but if it's still functionable it could be salvaged by soldering new leads.

In a wiring diagram I found but can't post it was part of the Parking brake, brake fluid level and rear ABS warning light system
So not part of engine system or braking system just a warning system, i.e. low fluid in master or Parking brake on
