My 2.9 is goin out, but I have 2 options im pondering. 1st Im gonna tell you my situation. I need a vehicle that can reliably do 70ish mph for 150 miles straight. My ranger and my F250 wont cut it. So I have been thinking of a car :icon_surprised: more than likely a Lincoln Mark VII LSC for some reason I like em lol. There is an alternative thought I had. There is a 4D55 turbo diesel that came from a ranger sitting in my friends barn. and is complete like wiring and all including mounts. I just so happen to have a FM146? and bellhousing. My truck is a 92 4 sus lift 2 inch body and running 33s with 410s reg cab short bed. Is this feesable for what I need? is wiring a 1st gen diesel into a 2nd gen gonna be PITA. Am I gonna spend this money and just have to do 55 all 150 miles?

On a 2nd more awesome note If I were to go with the swap I would have a matching set lol My F250 and Ranger are of the same era both are red both have 410s both are 5spd after the swap then both would be diesels :headbang:

Hmm What you guys think

Why don't you just get another truck, Bro?? Darn, I have perfect eyesight but I think I now need glasses....lol

i think he is lol. id do the swap. its not going to hurt it. why in the world do you wanna do 70 for 150 miles?

I can't say anything about the trans, but the wiring should be easy. there are like 3 wires on that engine. And you don't really need two of them to make it run.

The 4D55 was not, by and large, considered a "fast" engine though. Might want to take that into consideration.
