2.9 Injector Wiring.....

Morning All..

With a firing order of 142536, one would assume that the 2 sets (A & B) of injector wires from the ECM would be connected to 142, 536 respectively.

Is my 2.9 wired weird IF, it is NOT the above ?

currently it's 324, 156

This makes NO sense to me.... (Help Please)

The 2.9 uses a batch fire system. 123 and 456 fire as groups. Cylinder 1 needs fuel, 123 fire. Cylinder 3 needs fuel, 123 fire.

All injectors share a common power buss and the banks are fired by the PCM providing ground to the desired bank. Given that, the injector harness only contains 3 actual circuits, power, bank 1 ground, and bank 2 ground.

One of the things that makes viewing the harness tricky is the physical arrangement of the injectors. They are slanted and form an X pattern as viewed from the front, so the plugs for bank 2 are actually on the same side as the bank 1 spark plugs.

Also, not trying to be a dick, just trying to make sure we are all calling everything the same thing since not everyone gets it right, Ford's cylinder arrangement is:

I answered my own question, (but as Im writing this I see that ADSM answered it also, TY BTW)
