2.9 heads....

I have searched high and low, found a few places (eBay, local parts stores, etc...) is there anywhere I can go to pick up a set of used heads without spending upwards of $800? I'm starting to wonder if I can bring this motor back to life. I picked this truck up in trade and have every intentions of making it nice again, but so far all its lacking to run is new heads, of course both are cracked...

You do want the 1989-1992 2.9l heads, older ones cracked easier.

You might call local machine shops, they may have 1 or 2, and they have access to more search sites.

The last set I bought were from a 90 B2. Got them at the U-Pull for $35 each.

I have a perfectly good running 1989 2.9 that I am going to be pulling out and would sell the heads off it if you wanted. If you reply soon enough I could even send you a video of it running.

I bought and valve slapped the ITEM numbers from rock auto. It's all within the right geometry and the seats where "good nough" IMHO. I blew out both and had to get it rolling fast. The world products supper heads I couldn't find and the junk yard jobs weren't worth reconditioning. But I'm also the odd one out that has seen enough cr&9 from "good shops" that straight out the box doesn't bug me anymore. If I get 30k from 400 bucks that's 2 tires.
