1987 2.9 manual trans. looking for the right part number for the ECM. One time i start it, it runs ok. Then the next time i fire it up runs like crap. I have replaced just about everything on the engine. Have done tune up, in found two bad vac. lines. Checked timing. So i'm wondering if it has the right ECM . The guy i got it from said it's set in his backyard for three or four years. but he clams he started it every couple months. I cleaned fuel tank and filter. So would like to see if it has right ECM. Thanks :annoyed:

I really doubt that is your problem. Its that's not something that is commonly changed out. If the PCM is the problem it is more likely a failing unit than the wrong one installed.

Do you have access to a fuel pressure tester? Most auto parts places have a loan a tool program. Test for around 35-40 psi running. The pressure [not running] should stay at that psi for months
