Help, I have been chasing this nitemare for a week now and have or seem to have done all the teast I can. When I turn on the key there is no fuel pump sound (pump is OK) if I jumper the module it will pump, also have 12v to the coil and did test the TFI which told me that the TFI was bad so I put in a TFI from a running Ranger still no spark or fuel pump and I have tested the inertia switch and it is operating normal. Could the ECM be the problem? I would think the truck would still run albeit poor if the ECM went out.

the truck wont run if the ECM has completely failed.

and it does sound like that could be your problem. you might try an ECM out of another truck if you have one handy. also check all your grounds and whatnot as loose ECM grounds can cause all kinds of issues.

Take the plug off the ECM and ground pin 22 to known good ground. This will tell the fuel pump relay to turn the pumps on. It will at least tell you if the delivery system is working. If so then you can look into the ECM.
