My 89 B2 starts great, runs fine for a mile or so, then cuts out. If I coast in gear it will start running after a few seconds, and runs fine for a few minutes.

Or, if I restart once or twice it will run fine for a few minutes. Also, if I change gear and pop the clutch it will start running. It might be my imagination, but I seem to have more problems on smooth streets.

I am guessing fuel pump. Any other ideas?

Thanks,

doug

I got a 2.9 and it started doing something similar (i would stomp on the gas and it would go again) I took off my IACV and sprayed it down with Carb choke cleaner and its working fine now. A new one at autozone is like 60 bucks, but that seemed to fix my problem

Perhaps the TFI module? Does the tach jump around or anything like that?

Might check the coil plug-in. I cleaned mine one day and then it wouldn't start at all. The idle would go up and down while moving the plug. Not saying it's the problem but easy to check.

The TFI makes the tach go nuts? Not second guessing, just curious because my tach is doing some wacky stuff lately... Sorry to TJ:threadjacked:

I had a bad neg ground in my 94 Ex Sport that made the truck kill when I hit bumps here and there.... When she shuts off does it loose power to everything (even momentarily?) I wound up replacing the neg batt cable and the leads on it to resolve the issue...
