i got a 88 b2 i had a flowmaster 10 seris muffler on it with one cat an a 2.5 outlet behind the rear tire.
I got tired of it it sounds to glass pack like to me.
I cut the muffler off behind the cat.
I'm wanting to just run the exhaust back out in the exit an just get a peice of 18 inch 2.5 exhaust tube put back in the mufflers place.
Just curious if any one has a set up like this on there b2 or ranger or not an if it sounds fairly decent or not..thanks in advance guys!

I really figured someone would have something to add or something to say...lol maybe ill just hafto find out an post up a sound clip. lol
:headbang: ROCK ON!! :headbang:

I used to run my 86 2.9 ranger with 2-1/2 pipe no muffler running right to the rear tire an dumped out the side, it was very throaty and I had many v8 friends that loved the sound of it :)

i did the same thing, sounded really nice but just 2 damn loud in the cab and annoying.

well mines goin to be ran out with a rear exit behind the tire..so maybe it wont be as loud an resonate in the cab as bad.

I had mine running off the last cat back about 18 inches and then I put a 45 degree turn out the side. It had a nice idle, but it was way too loud in the cab running down the road.

In my green Ranger I have a 2.25" exhaust system that has the cats, no muffler and it exits out the back. I think it sounds pretty throaty and it is a 4.0. I drive through town a few times a week with it and the cops don't seem to care, but I don't rev it "much" in town. If I were you I'd go for it and see how it sounds. The worst that should happen is you have to put a muffler back in it.:icon_welder:

my 92 has cats then the stock front pipe. sounds good not as loud as just cats, the best part is the cops dont care and the radio can drown it out for the most part
