i have a 90 bronco 2, i bought it about 6 months ago from a buddy for $1000. the first few months it ran fine, now whenever its cold outside it runs great... but when its warm weather it runs like crap. before i noticed how the weather was affecting it, i had changed out plugs and wires, new throttle position sensor, changed IAC, changed O2 sensor. i hope someone can help because this one has really got me stumped...

better off getting the codes 1st...this way you can zero in on what is the issue...instead of replacing parts and hope that is the cure.

well i did get the codes, thats why i replaced the o2 sensor. failed to mention that, sorry... there were no other trouble codes

SO what codes are being tripped still??? after all those replacement parts.
did you clear the codes? presume that you had, just had to ask.:icon_thumby:

have the TFI tested (aka ignition module on the back side of the distributor housing). test a minimum of 3 times

go over the grounds and connections very well.

concidering that this acts up after it is warmed up...coolant temp sensor (CTS) might be high on the list .
when was the last time the fuel filter was changed, maybe you got a bad tank of gas??

+1 on this. you need to tell us what codes you have. A lot of times the o2 sensors are fine they are doing there job and reading the information. People think everytime there is a code it is the o2. that is not the case. how about the air filter is it new is the intake clogged or obstructed in anyway?

i cant remember exactly what it was but the guy at the shop told me something about fuel stage 1 or 2 or something like that... but i know he did say that the o2 sensor was bad so i changed it. ive been through the whole air intake, cleaned the throttle body, cleaned the fuel injectors. i just wish i could find out what would be affected by weather change. for example, this morning it was pretty cold and it drove fine, idled fine, didnt act up at all... then this afternoon when it warmed up outside, it wouldnt idle for nothing. this is really aggravating

I recently had the same problem. my truck would run like crap when it got up to normal operating temp. I couldn't figure it out either. I just went through testing/replacing sensors. When I replaced the MAP sensor the truck ran normal again. If its the same problem its a really quick fix with the MAP sensor. They run about $60.

it took me a while but i finally got the code that its giving and its a 41... i looked it up and it said something about no HEGO switching detected. anybody got an idea of what that means? oh and it also said something about running lean... so any help would be great.

I only know the obd-II codes. as a matter of practice a lean code means the o2 sensor is working and just reporting information. a code showing a slow or dead o2 sensor could be the o2 sensor itself

so i replaced the map sensor and it idles great but the exhaust still stinks like before... any ideas?
