2.9 - 3.0 swap

I can get a free 2.9 from my brothers 87 Bronco if I want it. Ran great before the trans went. Will it fit my son's 95 Ranger with a 3.0 5 speed? I'd like to get it and clean it up, keep it for a spare. But I can't see keeping it around just to sell it later.

you could problably get an adapter plate to mount up the tranmission, you also have wiring differences if the bronco was an auto, personally i wouldnt do that swap unless your 3.0 is blown its a better engine

Thanks, saves me the trouble of pulling it and having it sit around the garage. The Bronco was an auto so more trouble than it's worth. I might still yank it for my truck.

YOU READ MY MIND! I hada 3.0L in Several of my cars/vans 92 Taurus, 2007 Taurus, 94 Aerostar, 86 Aerostar,,,, ALL really great vehicles. I have a 89 B2 with a 2.9L and I would love to swap it with a 3.0L. A legitimate question that I will def be looking into!
