I have a nice vent installed on the driver's side valve cover of my 85 B2, and was thinking of looking for another driver's side valve cover to use on passenger side to eliminate the PCV valve setup. Any thoughts on the matter/spare valve covers?

Don’t do it!! Unless you like oil blown all over and leaking out your block seals and gaskets.
PCV systems have a purpose. They keep pressure from building up inside your engine. Without a PCV system your dipstick may pop out of its tube and blow oil all over. The main bearing seals will seep oil in your parking space and everything on the bottom of your rig.

Before PCV systems, engines had vents- usually built into the oil cap- and road draft tubes to pull the oil vapor out of the crank case. The road draft tube hung below the engine and the sir rushing by it created a slight vacuum. Oil draft tubes always dripped oil on the road. That, combined with the oil leaks common in old engine, is why the center of each lane used to be dark colored and why motorcyclists were taught to ride in the wheel tracks, not the center of the lanes. The PCV system was a great improvement, I installed a PCV system in the flathead in a 35 pickup I worked on. Please keep your PCV in place.

Deleting a pcv setup doesn't have to make a mess..

Breather tanks.. air/oil seperators..

But why bother deleting it at all?

In a presumably stock setup like the o.p probably has.. not much I'd imagine. Good for racecars though 😋
