Alright every one, got a 85 ranger doing a motor swap a 75 2.8L mustang II motor new cam, 4bbl carb all the good stuff. and im planning on turboing it(which is sad cause im such an all motor guy but my 302 swap wasnt working out so well and want cheap quick hp) any way they dont make turbo manifolds for a 2.8 of course so i was gonna fab something up a flanged end that would fit the turbo on the end of my exhaust manifold. this got me thinking.... manifolds a restrictive when it comes to exhaust flow which is why its a turbo manifolds are like a header design i was wondering would i lose any and if so would it be much power? even though the compressor on the turbo will compress the air. lets hear from you guys.

I know thats these motors had turbos on them in Europe for racing but don't know if the ones on America have the same internals for it. If you do decide to do it make sure to keep the boost low and watch your air to fuel ratio. Any engine can have a turbo fabbed up for it. I've seen some ugly ass designs that have worked great.

Where did you find a Mustang II with a 2.8 liter? They didn't make many of those with the 2.8 in them.

Hope to see you put a turbo on it. I just put a 2.8 in my truck and you should see what I did to it. Check out my build thread, the link to it is in my signiture.

there was a 2.8 turbo for sale here in Mn. a couple of months ago. it came from Europe, factory turbo for a Capri. it was actually used in a Panoz kit car and had less than 15k miles on it. i almost bought it but couldn't afford the $4k to have it installed into my truck! so, they are out there, but extremely rare here in the states.

My grandpa had it. so really i was lucky. Yes i was aware of the european turbo 2.8L however the heads on my 2.8 are simease heads meaning the exhaust ports are two close to each other(bout and 1 3/4") and one further away from the other two (bout 4") im not sure if the exhaust ports are the same but even if they are the rareness of a european manifold compared to just fabbin something up would be too much trouble, i believe ill just fab something up. :icon_welder:
anyone here done some fabing for a turbo for there motor?

This mod. would cost more then a 4.0 swap, if you put the forged internals in the 2.8 that is.

Since yours is a 2wd, I would do a 5.0. That will light up those nice tires you got.
