my doner is a 96 explorer
i doing motor tranny etc my ? is can i keep my tranfer case cuz its manurl not auto its a bw1350 i think

Ford did put the 1350 behind 4.0s for a while. They switched to the 1354 after a year or so because they hold up better over the long run but I think you can get away with it as long as you don't abuse anything.

No, they didn't.

The 4.0 was introduced in 1990 and the 1990 model run began
with the 13-50, BUT the 4.0 wasn't actually introduced until
AFTER the December of 1989 introduction of the D35/13-54.

The 96 explorer has the BW 4405 and it runs different from the 1350 and 1354 and would require work to get it to switch from high to low. You can mount both 1350 and 1354 to the 4R55E tranny it is a direct bolt on.

Well the 4405 in the 95-01 Explorers there is no specific 2wd (2 position t-case) on the t-case because the 4wd locks in by an electro magnetic clutch so you could run a hot wire to a toggle switch and then to the transfer case then with the flick of the switch you'll have 4X4, but you would still need to rig something up to switch to low gear and still would need to have 12v running to the t-case for the 4X4 to be activated still. The GEM operates the t-case, since you have a donor you will see a brown wire by the driver seat going to the t-case and that is the wire the 12v needs to be connected to for the clutch. You would be much better off sticking with the manual t-case IMO

so i could keep my bw1350 on the bronco ii? and put on the new tranny? i loookin for a floor shifter kit for it lol any ideas ?

Yes, you can keep the 1350 in the truck with the new tranny. And have not heard of anyone doing a floor shifter kit for these tranny's, remember with the 4R55E you have to turn to overdrive off by pressing a button unlike the A4LD's that you manual shifted it to normal drive, I don't know if you could possibly rig a shifter up from an A4LD from a BII or not, don't know all the differences between the linkages besides the obvious O/d and D position.
