2.8 or 2.9 performance??


Found a source for the early Pre-Smog (No exhaust Gas crossover hump) heads for the 2.8 engine. These are the best flowing heads out of the box for these engines. Very good price too! PM me if interested. I have decided to do the old reliable 2.8 for a decent build. Not looking for huge numbers, just a real good seat of the pants upgrade with half decent mileage to boot. Thanks all!


Been awhile since I've posted on this forum (almost 4 years!:shok:)..


My 2.8 is still chuggin along. I fabbed an adapter plate from aluminum, and installed a Holley/Weber carb and an old school points style distributor from a Mustang II on mine. Don't know if it's proper, but I run the EGR valve off from ported vacuum, and it seems to work fine.

No big powerhouse to be sure, but my 2.8 has proven to be a very dependable performer once I got rid of all the electronic nonsense..
