I've had my 84 B2 for about a year the2.8 is well past retirement age, my plan was to swap to a 89 2.9 and use my original intake and carb but that wont work as I now realize. Is there a (carb style) intake that will fit the 2.9? If not I guess by only option is to by a donner for the EFI parts and harness.... Any help is greatly needed.

Skip it and go 4.0 and all the EFI. Haven't done it myself yet, but about to.

I have a BII with 2.8, and one with 2.9. The 2.9 is not enough for me. If you're gonna go thru the trouble to do the swap, why not make it worth the effort? It's about the same trouble, and cost. There are write ups about it all over this forum.
Just my personal feelings on the subject.

This has been asked a hundred times. No. If you want a 2.9 or a 4.0, you gotta take the EFI along with it. It's 2011 people, are we really still this afraid of EFI?
