the mustang II looks most like a japanese ride(mazda ) than a mustang, but i think that restoring em would be cool, theyre ford so u would find some things in common with any ford... i guess
if i had a chance like this and had the money laying around..i would deff get em and restore one and build a race car on the other:headbang:
go get em!!

Do you need another project? IT may be a good deal but get the Bronkzilla going!!!

Ben

They are worth whatever steel runs for per pound.

Mustang II's had good front steering and suspension. Lots of project/kit cars use them.

Fair enough.

They were no better than the mustang ghia. However when properly restored and stuffed with bALLS they are a formiddable ride. But for 550 bux they are def an awesome deal. The resale of restored vehicles alone will make them worth it. But you'll be selling to a specialty crowd. Consider them a high risk investment.

It looks like the one on the left does not have an engine in it, it looks me to me like it sits noticeably higher in the front than the one on the right. i'd buy'em for 550 if they werent all rusted out, be sure to check out the floorboards and whatnot for holes.

If they have the 2.3 with the offy type intake and a 2bbl carb...you could sell those on here for about $100 each...that's what I have and it came off a 78 MII...but if it's the lowly 289 or 250 straight six...hmmm, wait...those are both good rebuild engines...

But I'd say unless you're going to restore them or they are in REALLY good shape (rust wise) then I'd pass...

if there clean id buy then and part them out, there a pretty rare mustang and there still is people wanting to restore them and are looking for parts. Quick story, i went to a pull a part and found a 88' turbocoupe, i didnt know much about them, i just wanted to get some parts for my 2.3 turbo built. long story short, i dropped the project and put all $80 worth of parts on Ebay. i ended up makin like $250 off the parts i only payed $80 for. computers and turbocoupe vam's bring fat cash. so what im tryin to say is, even tho there not popular, theres still people out there that like them and are looking everywhere for that part there missing..

People, learn some history! The '74 Mustang II was based on the Pinto. Two engines were available, the 2.3 four-cylinder (Y code) and the 2.8 "Cologne" V-6 (Z code). None of these engines had anything to do with the '71-'73 Mustang, which had the 250 straight-six (L), the 302 V-8 (F) and the 351 V-8 (in both two- [H] and four-barrel [Q] versions). The Pinto could also be had with a 2.0, 2.3 or 2.8 liter engine during this time period (just like the '83-'85 Ranger).

The Mustang II was a big hit and came at just the right time following the Arab Oil Embargo of '73. In '75 the 302 V-8 returned to the Mustang II.

my first question would be. How long have they been sitting in grass? Nothing kills the frame and or unibody of a sitting car faster then grass. seriously.
