2.5L ('98-'01) 2.5l won’t rev past 3000rpm

I haven’t checked the cat yet. There is a slight rattle that may be the cat.
I removed the fuse from the amp and it is running a lot better now. I really got on it and it started to act up again until I drove like a grandpa for a bit. It seems like when I hold it to the floor that’s when it acts up. Sounds like the cat maybe a possibility.

I don't remember the specifics, but you can use a vacuum gauge to test for blocked cat.

Where would you put the vacuum gauge??

After driving the truck most of the week it started to act up again to the point that the truck was un-drivable. This time it did it when I was driving it pretty normally. Idk what’s going on but I still haven’t ruled out the catalytic converter.

I got it figured out finally. It was the cat exploding. One of the honeycomb looking parts exploded and was clogging the rest of the exhaust. I got it all out of these and she’s running good again.
