I have a 1999 Ranger with the 2.5l engine in it and it has been giving me problems. I have put a Mass Air Sensor on it and have changed plugs and it stilll is having problems cranking. I dont know what to do now not sure if it is something wrong with the injection system. If any ideas please let me know

well your description is kinda odd. so what is the exact problem...is it not cranking over or is it not firing ? with that info some of us can help with your ishue

Ok i just got through taking the plugs out and they are soaked. The motor is turning over but not firing. so i am not sure what to check now.

sounds like there's no spark. check plug wires and coil packs.

I have changed coil packs plugs and wires and battery and it is still dragging to get started. I dont know what else to do, i dont know anything about the injectors. What would yall suggest?

i've heard you can check to see if the injectors are working by taking a long screwdriver and put the tip on the injector, put your ear on the handle and listen for a "ticking" sound. if you don't hear anything it could be stuck open causing the plug to get soaked. idk, just an idea...

If you pulled the plugs, and they are soaked with fuel.... I highly doubt the injectors have failed. You might check the powertrain control module. Also it wouldn't hurt to make sure all your grounds are making good contact.

i don't know. can an injector get stuck "open" where its dumping too much fuel into the cylinder? or do they only fail in a sense that no fuel comes out?

ya, they leak sometime, i'm not saying his injectors are perfect, but it should still start..... Plus he said it's turning but not firing, probably after turning the key on and off so many times trying to fire it he ended up flooding the cylinders. Sounds like a no spark issue to me, but he isn't giving us a whole lot of info to work with. :)
