As everyone knows the 2.5 needs more power.
so I ported the head, intake and exhaust. Added a cold air intake and removed the EGR line as hot exhaust into the intake kills power.

changed out the camshaft, installed the aluminium flywheel both killed bottom end power but increased rolling power!

Next will be a 4.10 gear to help the bottom end power and milling the head for compression....... unless a 3.7 and manual trans from a mustang shows up.

I think the gears will do more for you than anything else. I did go the head porting, cam, shaving, and valve route and it was pretty impressive...expensive but I was working two jobs so it was affordable.

l had the 3.73 rear end and was looking for a 4.10 rear just before I sold it but they were getting harder to find for the older Rangers...apparently the newer ones would have worked too...never looked into it after I sold mine though.
