2.5 to 4.0

Ok so i saw this truck on the interenet really close to me for sale. I am really interested in it execpt for the drivetrain situation. Everything is in mint condition. truck has 118,000 km on it and is a 2000. its 2wd. The guy put suspension lift on it and some big bud tires. I want to swap a 4 litre into it and a 4 wheel drive tranny into to it. What would this all involve? anyone evr done this?

I know most of your are thinking why? but the deal is good and I wouldn't mind a project to work on for the next couple months!

best bet would be to buy another 4x4 with a 4.0 that has been wrecked in the rear so all the engine and front 4x4 components are there and undamaged. not a small project and not particularly inexpensive.

ok, now heres another dilema that just arose. i am able to purchase a 83 ranger with a 5 litre mustang carb engine in it. conversion is already done, and done properly with rear end completely swapped as well. What do it get? 5.0 for 900 plus some minor work or the 2000 for 2000 and lot of work?
