2.5 running rough, ticking
my 98 4cyl reg cab automatic ran rough at idle when I started it this morning & this isn't the first time I have noticed this. it was also making a ticking kinda noise during this process and the ticking and rough idle went away once the engine warmed up.
im thinking the camshaft possibly has worn lobes for a cylinder or maybe one of the ignition coil packs is going bad?
-all 8 wires and one of the coil packs is new within the last 12000 miles.
-the spark plugs I don't know because its too hard to get to them to check.
-bought the truck used about 1000 miles ago and it didn't do it then.
-have changed the oil and it wasn't bad or metallic particles, wasn't low.
-truck has 175000 miles on it.
I would love for some opinions to chime in on this and help me take a crapshoot at whats going on. thanks to you all. ill check back in the morning.
