2.5 in place of a 2.3

so i have a 96 4x4 ranger with a 2.3 which is toast i know a 2.5 will physically bolt in. so my question is will i have to change any wiring or is a plug and play deal?

i have a 97 and i had to switch out the entire wiring harness, and had to use the fuel rail and intake off of the 2.3... had to switch some other minor things
