Alright well first off i have a 90 ranger 2wd stadard cab short bed and the motors just about done and i have a 1988 turbocoupe runs great but like most cars that stupid ppl own! The previous owners never took care of it so it has rust issuses. im just wondering if i repin the ranger harness do i have to switch over to the coil packs? cause mostly im just wanting to put my running 2.3t with factory intercooler and all in the ranger and drive it that way till later on then go about building it and at this point if i cant fix the rust in the car im weighing out all options of the motor in the ranger i already own or in my 86 fox platform ltd LOL prolly not on that one since its got a 351w goin in it or finding a stang or even a pinto or if its bothers me too much ill just put the swap in the ae86 corrola thats sittin in my garage cause im not to big a fan of its 4age atm anyhow.

dang, you have a lot of options. as far as swapping the motor into the ranger, swap it all. harness, ecu, ect...keeping it all together will make it far easier to swap back out or into another car. splicing the wires is a pain and it will save you from haveing to repin some other time for whatever reason

so if i drop the full swap in the ranger itll be easier to put the TC wiring in it? If it ends up in the ranger it wont be coming back out unless i wreck it LOL so repining/adding wires wont bother me too much i just could never figure out the cenverting to tfi from the dis system never really seen any tech articles about it either everyone just says to put it in with the dis system and i dont want to and i dont feel like using megasquirt cause if im buying that system itll be going in the drift car not a Dd. Wat about seperating the engine wiring from the chassis harness i heard thats not so fun on the TC's?

ive got the thing you need but its a pdf and i cant get it onto photobucket... but if you pm me your email ill send it to you

y would yo want to swap from dis back to tfi? there is a diagram on turborangerforums tha shoes what needs to be done to run dis. it is a faily simple swap. and if you were to swap the whole shabang from the tc to you ranger, you shouldnt have to worry about switching the ignition system because everything will be moved together.

ok cool. at least we are on the same page and not tellin him 5 different things!

and use the ranger harness, it's easier, and use the ranger throttle body (and the IAC, it's different than the older ones, there's an internal diode I think) if it'll bolt up, will save you from splicing on the older style connector... all you have to add is the boost controller (optional), VAM and intake air temp sensor

DIS is the way to go, you have to drill and tap 3 holes in the old block and put the ranger front cover on, but it's not a big deal, make a template off of the ranger engine for the sensor mount and use a 6mm bolt with the head cut off for the alignment dowel.
