I have a 2.3l four cylinder with 2.5 inch piping with a flowmaster 40 the cat cracked where it conjoined to the down pipe the cat is a pos universal 2" cat with the crack being there it is throwing a code...i need a cat and cant decide if i want to go with a 2.5 inch magnaflow or if i want to continue running a smaller sized one because of the weather change the exhaust is breaking in again and is getting a LOT louder i'm not sure on what to do if someone could tell me what they would do that would be great

id go w/ 2.5 cat that way way you keep the same size the whole way down and helps ease up the welding.

i had my exhaust hanging from only the tail pipe hanger and got a flowmaster 40 for free i only spent 60 bucks on piping and to have someone weld it up i really couldnt go wrong and it sounds great

between 2.5 and 2.25 you should be okay, most ppl prefer the smaller piping on the four cylinder to reduce the pulsation on it and keep the sound more mellow.

search youtube.com for a video just type in reggioisme in the search box thats what my exhaust sounds like its really deep toned
