I just bought a 99 2.5l engine to drop into my 97 that had a 2.3l. after taking a close look at it I found that almost none of the eletrical connectors were the same, so I switched the entire engine harness out with the 2.3. after making the wiring switch I found that the fuel delivery was different too, theres apparently no return line on the 2.5 engine. so my question is if I buy a new 2.3 fuel rail and put my old throttle body and intake on, will it starve the motor for fuel or will it be ok? and where can i buy a new fuel rail?

do you still have the rail off of the '97? use it, it'll probably work fine.

the stock computer and stuff will probably work fine, it should account for it with the oxygen sensor and MAF

I had to cut the lines off of the old one to get it off, the fittings were corroded and I didn't think I would need it at the time. Called 4 or 5 bone yards today and all said they had no fuel rails for 97s. Then I called advanced, napa, and autozone and none had it
