I have a 1990 2 wheel drive ranger, I pulled the original 2.3L daul spark out for a swap. My question is, I have found a 2.3L single spark from a 1988 mustang, what would I have to do too swap the single spark 2.3 into my ranger that had dual spark?

HERE is a diagram that I found HERE

I've posted it several times and don't remember everything... I didn't go that route and used DIS on mine, but I believe that can be used to go backwards to TFI ignition

Pull out the wiring harness and computer from the 1988 Mustang and install it in the 1990 Ranger

Or get a 1989-1994 2.3l Ranger engine, the distributorless dual spark has better power and performance than the single spark

If you are not trying to get away from the dual, spark system and your 8-plug head is OK, you can always swap the head over.

The problem with the head swap is no Crank Sensor on the 1988 block

That does take some screwing around to fix... making a template for the crank sensor, getting the crank sensor and bracket from another engine as well as the front seal housing and the appropriate wiring and related parts as well as the oil pump drive, making a heat sink for the DIS module (and grounding it). The DIS can run off of just the passenger side coil, if you don't have a tach ground the two outputs of the unused side and cap off the power wire, if you have a tach tie the appropriate wires together for the two coils and bob's your uncle... that's how my turbo engine is running right now.
