2.3l not starting

i have a 1989 ford ranger with a 2.3l (1990 engine) MT, with duel coil packs. It died on me while driving home, cranks over but no spark, tested the coil packs they are good, replaced the ICM and it still wont start.. I think it might be the CPS but im not sure. Anyone else have this problem?

did you put all 3 bolts back in the ICM?

If the ICM is good ( and grounded properly, using all 3 mounting bolts), the coil packs are good, and all wiring is intact is could only be the crank sensor or the computer.

Before blaming either the computer or crank sensor. i'd check and double check all wiring, fuses and grounds. good luck.

before doing ANYTHING else, I would check the timing belt, I bet it broke... throwing money and parts at it isn't the best answer...

it just happened to me on my justy a month ago so it's fresh in my mind... I checked into all sorts of things before I made the connection too but luckily hadn't bought any parts before I came up with the diagnosis

i am having a same no starting problem with my 1989 2.3l MT ive replaced the CPS and now got a new ICM ready to put it back on,, i hope it works.. did you check all the grounds? like my buddy told me it could be a bad ground wire that could cause it not to start..

bad ground wont kill it while driving, Im thinking jumped time too.
