Truck- 1994 Mazda B2300 5 speed
I've been reading up on the boards but I'm still not sure in which direction I should take. FYI, I'm okay mechanically but definately not the best. Anyways, about w week ago my truck cut off on me while driving home for work. We towed it back to my house and the next day we checked to make sure we were getting fuel-good, checked spark-good, checked the relays, all seemed to be good. It turns out that 2 grown men (one who builds 11 second cars as a hobby) didnt think to check the timing belt which was severed in half. Anyways, we buy a new belt, align the timing marks, put everything back together, and bam, it starts right up. Great news except for the very next day i drove my truck about 5 miles down the road to arby's, go inside, come right back out and it wont start. It will crank all day but wont fire up. Anyways, I go home, wait a few hours for my buddy to give me a tow, go back to arbys and it fires right up. I didnt mess with any relays or do anything different at all. Well I ride the Motorcycle for a few days since it was decently warm in oklahoma and the next time I try to start the truck it fires right up. I immediatly drive it to the gas station (just in case its low on gas), fill er up, try to start her and once again it cranks but never fires up.My buddy agrees to give me a ride but in the meantime I switch out the a/c relay with the eec, then the fuel pump relay, wiggle wires around, yadda yadda yadda and nothing happens. (BTW the fuel pump humms strong) I leave it at the gas station, go to work for 8 hours, come back and it starts right up. NowI really dont think its fuel related because It was squirting out strong before we replaced the timing belt and I can hear the fuel pump humm. I dont think its spart as well becuase we got plenty using a spark plug tester. Could it be the eec relay even though I plugged the a/c relay in its spot and it still didnt fire up? Or maybe its the crank sensor, if so how would I go about testing? Intertia switch? Like i said Im okay with working on something by not the best, especially with diagnostics. Sucky part is I work 9-6 (dark to dark basically) and dont have an ohm/volt meter. Any help is much appreciated
