I hae a 1986 ranger 4x4 2.3l manual. It has gas on all of the spark plugs. It has a strong gas smell in the oil.And its getting gas to the fuel line becaue i turned the ignition on and pushed the little pressure thing on the fuel rail and fuel came out.i Am also getting fire at the coil.am going to check the spark plugs wires when i get a test light to see if there firing. But i it has new wires plugs distributor cap, distributor, and the new sensor on the side of distributor am thinking its not getting fire. Its getting fuel. But it will not start only crank.please help

have you checked the timing belt? does it sound normal when you crank it?

yes it sounds normal when i crank it.and yes i have checked the belt it is ok something isent getting fire or something is letting gas leak.I also have a 1988 ford ranger with the 2.9 and it had gas in the oil and on the spark plugs i changed out the fuel presssure regulator diaghram so i think that could be my probnlem on this one
