2.3l 2wd Maunual Transmission Vacuum line?

Hey guys,

Had the truck up on a lift yesterday and was looking at my transmission and noticed that on the drivers side of the transmission towards the top, I saw what looks like a vacuum line fitting???

I felt around and couldnt feel any loose lines and really have no idea what this is for?? any ideas??

Im like the 4th owner of this truck and it has a ton of miles so there is no telling what its been through, just thought i would check here. Thanks!

Probably a vent fitting like on your rear diff.

yep, vent, not a big deal unless you get it that far under water...

X2 must be a vent tube as the man trans has no need for a vacuum source.

Ok, thanks guys.....when I am releasing my clutch i hear a hissing sound coming from the tranny, thought this may be it....guess not??

Only thing that comes to mind is a leaking master or slave clutch cyl, ooor maybe throw out bearing.
