I am changing the serpintine belt to v-belts, any suggestions for a part number for a belt to go around the crank and water pump only? I searched and every belt thread is about timing belts.

I don't think you'll be able to run a belt around just the crank and water pump... You need a pulley that will move to adjust your belt tension. Now I've gotta ask... Why would you want to switch to V-Belts? Serpentine belt with an auto tensioner is way better.

I am only running an alt. so I need short belts, also it is going into a Model T so I am trying to make the engine look older. Stock car guys run small block Chevys with just a belt around the crank and water pump.

Try a tractor supply store, or auto parts store for accessory belts.. take your pulley with you so you get the right fit ( and measure with a fat string or something around the pulleys with them installed so you have a rough idea of circumference )

take a v-belt the same size and cut it,
then wrap it where it needs to go, then
mark it clearly where it laps. belts are
sold by length.

Thank you guys for the suggestions, 20 years ago I worked at a parts store and we had a gauge (looked like a yard stick with two half pulleys on it) and we could match a belt by size. The nearest parts store to me is Advance Auto and if I put a gun to the help's head they could not tell a spark plug from a starter. I need to find a good parts store.

I know I will catch hell for this but I actually like Autozone....
O'reilley's is my second choice. Advanced and NAPA are crap.
I don't know where you live but if you have a Smyth Parts plus near you they are good as well.

My brother swears by O'Reilley's, Autozone by me is decent. Never seen a Smyth. I live in northwest Indiana. There is a NAPA about 20 min away I used to work at. Last time I was there (5-7 years ago) they were still good. They always delt with a lot of commercial garages and a lot of heavy truck parts, I will swing by and see if anyone has a clue after I check out O'Reilley's.

I imagine its probably the workers around here that make NAPA suck for me.
