Ok Here's my situation...
I owned a 1985 ford ranger. From the factory it was a 2.0 but when I had purchased it it was a 2.3. I have since swapped a 2.3 turbo into the truck. I got the wiring harness out of an 88 2.3 efi truck and the computer out of the car. I plan on purchasing a 15 gallon fuel cell and Walbro pump. Currently the motor is in the truck. My problem is my wiring. I know that they're are many threads on how to re-pin. I have all of the diagrams but the truck had been hacked and chopped up as far as wiring goes(due to previous owner). It was a factory carb'd truck. So that is why I am having the issue. Any suggestions on what I should do. I have let the truck sit now for almost a year and am tired of it not running. It was my first vehicle and I have a lot of money tied up in this truck and just want to get it running. So please any body with a suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

the wiring harness u have from the 88 efi, you should start matching up all connectors on the engine harness and put blue tape on them and once you do this put red tape on every thing that doesnt have a place , now start matching up all your red tape and account what your working with, if the 85s harness is cut up find the computer(probably passenger side just to the right of were your right foot would be if u were sitting in it) disconnect the computer and pull the old harness, feed the new harness through save the comp for last the grommets on those can be challenging, now connect your blue taped into the engine the thermal sensors can be very similar and sometimes the rubber on the inside on these will still be in the old sensors, do not plug in the distributer untill you have checked the pin locations on the 88 efi harness compared to the 2.3 turbo pins. and move them around, im not sure about the body harness on these i never really with them

You can find stand alone harness's on e-bay. they are from the merkers the harness is just the eng and related. I cut the harness from the 88 t-bird, and just overlaid it into my truck harness.
