i just checked the compression of a 1979 2.3T (carburated) and its getting roughly 90 psi at each cyl. seems low, right?

Please help as its been 2 YEARS since the car has run good, and im FED UP with workin on this POS.

Any comments welcome

Isn't brand spankin' new compression around 140 psi? Try putting some oil in the cylinders, and see if it goes up. If so, it's the rings. If not, time for a valve job.

Someone years ago called the Carb-turbo 2.3 the 2.3TSI

2.3 Turbo Self Imolating.

they were famous for melting their high compression forged pistons.
