2.3 revs up

I've been noticing that my 2.3 revs up when I come to a stop and then I have to sit there and rev it up to a higher rpm to make it idle back down but then sometimes it still won't do it.

Once the rev stops it seems to idle pretty good.

Do you think the idle or something needs to be set?

maybe a sticky idle air control valve. try cleaning it.

IAC valve could be a culprit,throttle cable could possibly be frayed and sticking,or if youre carborated,the fast idle on youre choke could be sticking a little,the IAC valve can be cleaned,so can the linkages on youre carborator,but if the cable is sticking,it would need to be replaced.
