I've had all sorts of weird ignition issues but always been able to swap parts around to find the issue, try swapping the coil packs from one side to the other as only the drivers side sparks during cranking. There's only 3 electric components of the ignition system (crank sensor, DIS module, and coil packs) so either one of them is bad or the signal or power/ground isn't getting to it. I've never actually "properly" troubleshot my truck since it's such a conglomeration of parts... I've just gathered some spare used parts and keep them on hand :)

Hi all.

I have a 94 ranger 2.3 with no spark. I changed the DIS module and the crank sensor [what a pain!].

I tested the new crank sensor and the output is going from 11.5v to 8.3v to 11.5v .

Says it should go from 10-12v to zero. is that correct?

this is driving just me nuts!

Thanks,
pete

a volt meter is in no way fast enough to read that. you need a lab scope to be able to look at the waveform...

you can TRY to use the min/max feature, but don't expect much.

is there power to the ignition coil? try removing the SPOUT connector
