2.3 needs more power

The problem with that idea is the lack of room in the engine bay. But maybe run 2, one in front connected to the front axle, and one in back connected to the rear axle. That would have the added benefit of making the front to rear weight ratio pretty damn close to 50/50.
Don't ask me to tell you how to make the power output synchronized, I don't know.

PS; I know you were thinking the 4.6, but I like thinking out of the box....lol.

2.3 needs more power

As a matter of fact, I pick up 3 boxes of Fiber1 cereal today...I shit you not.

You’re 100 percent correct back in the day my brother wanted to build his 2.3, turbo you name it. But it was just so expensive to do and parts aren’t easy to get. Considering my big turbo fiesta makes 310whp, for about 3000 dollars all in. It’s easier just to swap in a 5.0 IMO

Seems to me that if you have a 2.3 that needs more power...you have a 2.3 that needs a new owner.

And if you want power.....lots of it and cheap....and easy. And you think it's cheaper or easier to swap in a 302...

...just do a ls 5.3 or 6.0

I never saw the car in person, but I heard about a guy who used to work at one dealership I was at years ago. He did something like this with a Caddy CTS, and a pair of 5.3L Northstars. The electronic throttles and EFI made the synchronizing easier, but it had to have a second instrument cluster, which was apparently hidden in the glove box.

Looks like you're running first-gen fuel injection with smog controls. Rip that crap off. Ditch the TFI for a Duraspark & hook up vac advance. Racer Walsh sells an adapter to fit your lower manifold to a 2-bbl. Hit the junkyard and grab an Motorcraft/Autoline 2100 off anything up to an F250 or a Holley 350. Get it set up & you'll have the power you're looking for and you'll only be out about $150.

ive already gave it more timing than what it should have and i did the throttle cable mod, which those 2 combined made it more acceptable, and i have the egr blocked off

2.3's are about twice as much, per hp, to build as a small block, true. But gapping a small block with half a motor is worth it! And if it's in a pinto, the old haggard track lizards will flock to you...
