2.3 liter time belt broke need help

Get it to another garage. If it was running ok before it broke the belt there is nothing to prevent it from running the same,no interference motor. It might of broke the crank sensor when the belt broke. They are such a simple setup and if he can't get it running, take it out of there.

true, but that wouldnt explain the zero compression. I would like to know what this "2 hours of labor" was to get your truck running again.:icon_cheers:

timing belt would do it like the others mentioned, if a valve is open durring the compression stroke from the belt being off there won't be any compression, fix the belt alignment and it'll suddenly have compression...

reread it buddy. he said what it was....... so did everyone else.

I must be missing it... I see where everyone told him his valve timing was 180 degrees out, and I see where he paid the 'dumbass' and took his truck to another guy who charged him 2 hrs labour for....something.

(stupid spellcheck, stop underlining 'labour'. It's spelled right...this is Canada, ehh? LOL)

Anyway, likely was the valve timing, but we'd all like to know for sure....sensors don't cause 0 compression.

Rofl.the truck gets fixed after 20 posts and the OPer does not even report what the problem was. I think we should start implementing a required "how to use an Internet Auto Forum" before someone is allowed to post.

Ok look dude I did say what it was it was the timing so I think if anything before you try to bash anyone on this great forum read up 1st and think before you type ..its aholes like you that try to instigate and just ruin something that's good so next time you feel like having a opinion put or keep your head up your ass it might be better for you that way... thanks

I just saw the last post where the OP reposted that the truck was aligned and fixed. I guess that means the crank was off 180. I FEEL LIKE I AM PLAYING WHERE'S WALDO. I woild goback to Goober with the 2nd mechanics biill and tow charge for a refund

Fredranger. Very mature. Dude I have been on this thing a little more than you. I am so impressed with your intellect and compassion for others. I mean how many people would pay one "Mechanic" to screw up his truck and another to then fix. Oh and 2 tow charges. You are so kind

Fredranger. Go back and read post #13 where you said it was "fixed". Then maybe you will aplogize to me. Maybe I will put you on my do not help list. You can get the People that told you you had "BENT VALVES" to help you next time. GROW UP.

Well it got fixed cut my losses paid that dum ass mechanic and found another mechanic that laughed and fixed my prob in 2 hrs for 160 labor truck runs better and i think i found a new trusted mechanic but all in all thank you guys

I get mad when someone calls me an "ahole".........I have helped a lot of people on this forum and I don't take kindly to the "ahole" thing..... I read the thread up until #13 when the OP(thats you) posted that the truck was fixed.......for someone that was crying like a puppy dog about needing to get the truck fixed because of missing work and not wanting to spend $700.you are awfully tough now.......lets just say you are off my xmass card list.......

so wat ended up being the problem..

I am with you...the thread was confusing.......you gotta love the guy "gman" chastising you. He has been here 2 years and has 6 posts........1 of them was yelling at you. I wonder what the other 5 are for.............

reread it buddy. he said what it was....... so did everyone else.

who is everyone else. are they the people saying it was bent valves.......welcome to the Ranger Station........we should call you "6' poster

modelageek, do we have edit post options on here? lol 6 posts in a row, coulda been one.

I was just reading this and laughed when the OP got all pissy, completely uncalled for, oh man, but anyways good job on diagnosing his problem for him!
