Anyone know of a cam for a carbureted 2.3 with a lopey, choppy idle that doesn't require any head work? I think it needs to be under .450 lift. Looking for recommendations for one that's off brand like Camcraft, Sealed Power. I like the Comp 268H but it's a little pricey for me.

I'm not sure if they are still around... But I had dealt with Esslinger Engineering on a couple of 2.0 and 2.3's that I monkeyed with years ago. They weren't the cheapest but I always got good stuff and solid advice.

I just googled it... they are still around... http://www.esslingeracing.com/

I see they are now into ecoboost and duratech stuff.... might be worth looking area their site.

Yeah, I've looked at them, Racer Walsh and Bo-port. All good stuff but still pretty pricey. You'd think a 4-cylinder cam was half the lobes and half the machining of a V8 cam so it would be half the price, not double or triple.. I guess I missed this motors heyday.
