I apologize if i'm posting this in the wrong place! ive never been apart of a forum! Im just needing to know how and what i need to swap an engine.
The truck is a 86 mazda b2000 (2.0) 5 speed is there any ford motors that will bolt up easily without alot of work to it? i really dont want to spend alot of money buying parts for the motor to fit, i need the easiest swap! PLEASE help! thanks! im new to ford and mazda!

They are completely different engines. If you are determined to do this swap, use a 2.3 engine and trans together, either a carb engine or change over to carb from EFI.A lot of work either way.A 2.4 from a mazda or will bolt in if you get all the mounts and such.Easiest way is to just get another 2.0 and rebuild.

If i find a motor out of a b2200 5 speed (the b2000 is 5 speed) what all will i need to put the motor in, like mounts and stuff like that?

Oh and what if i get a motor out of an automatic truck?

You would have to switch out the flexplate from the auto with the flywheel from your manual-trans engine and install a pilot bushing, but essentially the engines are the same.

If you can find one in a 626,MX or ford probeGT(up to 95 I think)you can get get the same motor with a turbo charger. You can use either a 8 valve head or a 12 valve head.I,m pretty sure the 16 valve heads are different.

what years for the 626, mx? Im wanting something that will bolt right in lol

This is not going to be a bolt-in and cheap alternative. At a minimum you're looking at a couple/few hundred bucks extra to get a tune to add a turbo charger.

Don't know about those Mazda engines, but I think it's best to get one from a rear wheel drive. On some engines used in both rwd, and fwd applications they changed some of the external bolt bosses for accessories, and sometimes the bell housing bolt patterns. Just something to lookout for.

i would just do a Ford 302
