Intro
First off you have to consider what you are starting with. Any ranger that has a 2.3 duratec (2001 1/2+) and is 2wd and 5 speed (mazda m5od-r1 tranny) will be a perfect candidate for this swap. I am not familiar with the auto transmission and same goes for the 4x4. You would have to do your own research for that if thats what you have.

Where are you getting your 2.0/2.3 ecoboost motor?

ebay has a fair share of them and one can easily be had for under $1000. Mine was from a 2013 escape. anything 2012+ with an eb will work. Also take into consideration if your motor...

I remembered him talking about going to the Detroit thing. I thought he did and that is how I ran into the 2.3 turbo build. Then it hit me to go to the Detroit meet up thread and that's where I found him.

I met Jim at the Dearborn meet and he asked me to start a thread here for my build. The build is fully documented on turborangerforums. The majority of my fabrication work is all lost due to photobucket so Ill kind of start this thread off will where I'm at now and work back as I can.

Quick backstory, it all started with my old 93 (in my profile picture and the link in my sig) it was lowered and had a 2.3 turbo in it, I always wanted it to handle better and have more power, so this whole build was supposed to happen to it but I stumbled into an 01 cab and couldn't turn down 3 extra...

I found that looking for a 2.0 swap I know of about the time the new Ranger launched, you guys met the Duratec guy in Detroit. I don't remember the 2.0 guy's name and so far the build eludes me.

Jeff Simpson (dangerranger93) is the only person I've met or seen post here that has turbocharged a 2.3L Duratec. I took pics of his Ranger and featured it at:

The headers and intake were built by him out of aluminum. Really impressive to look at in person. That doesn't help the average person though because you can't say "use an exhaust manifold from a _____ and an intake from ____"
