I sure would like to get back into dating. Finding a girl that has just a few of the same interests as me is really really hard though.

I guess I need to know how to spot one.

Oh, and for this date thing you're going through. Definitely make her laugh, don't look at her body too much (they base alot of you off of how much you check them out), play with her hair if you're close to her,.. If she asks anything about you, be sure to tell the truth. If she wants to know your music, or the reason you drive a pickup, or what you thought when you first met her... remember the truth.

She won't feel like trusting you if you don't give her a reason. Laughter (as they have said above) will help immensely. This date may even end with a few good kisses. Just don't take it to the bedroom. That will always break your relationship up and make you feel like more of a jerk than ever.

yeh the tie is a little to much, save that for a job interview. how ever a clean shirt that is ironed will be a nice touch. also be very respectful to family. Because it makes a huge differenece when her mom and pop think your a nice gentlemen. Trust me I can charm parents without even thinking about it. In HS, my friends parents trusted me more than there own kids. And that pretty much went for ALL of my friends. And I didnt hang out with trouble makers either. Just always curtious. Ohh and dont worry about being nurvous. I still laugh at how I was shaking in my boots on my first date.

Most importantly, have FUN, this memory will last you a life time!

Polish up the steed too, making her ride amongst all your junk (maybe yours doesn't but my trucks accumulate stuff in them) won't impress her that much. The typical wash and chamois, along with a good dusting and vacuuming should show her you care about your truck. If the weather has been cruddy don't sweat the outside a whole lot, just knock the majority of the stuff off at the car wash, running a chamois over it would be futile effort. Lately around here we have had snow storms in rapid succession, so the streets just get dried and we get more snow so "kinda clean" is about as good as the outside can get for the moment.

You should have it nailed though. You just don't want to wear a t-shirt with a nice set of trousers or khakis.


I'm more the kind of guy to wear loose (not super baggy, not tight either) jeans with a white t-shirt with an over shirt and either boots or clean sneakers. I make sure the overshirt isn't too bright, nor will it have any writing on it.

To me, the overshirt (button up, top few buttons open, not tucked in) is a tiny fashion statement about myself but with a huge impact on how I am seen by other people.

Oh, and since I'm military... I don't have to worry about keeping my hair in order. I do wish I had more facial hair. I think I look good with a well trimmed goatee and touching sideburns.
