so since i cant seem to find any motor mounts and plates from an ex and need to build a new cross member im thinking of using transdapt's universal sbf crossmember kit. it is 100 bucks and comes with mounting pads. anyone ever seen these or have any feedback on them??? or if anyone has plates i can buy for cheap??? the wreckers around here want to cover their labour to pull them out. not paying 150 just for plates. any ideas??

i have a set form a explorer if thats what you are looking for plates and motor mounts $50.00 plus shipping let me know

tryin to figure out how to remove the rear hubs so i can get rid of the rear drums/backing plates for disc conversion. never played with a full floater before.

On a 10.25 the drums will slide off like a normal ranger 8.8 or a 9" rear. then there is a large nut (like on a front axle) inside the hub. you must take it off then the hub will pull off. On a 10.25 on side is regular thread and one is reversed.

yeah, got it apart and back together with new seals already, it was the special socket i didnt have at the time to remove the hub nut

got my new fox 2.0 air shocks today! 16"s :) also ordered some axle wedges from duff and extended radius arm links from stone crusher steering. cant wait to get started on the d60

got the front dana 60 today. its a high pinion, king pin out of a 79 f-350. the drivers side tube is longer on these versions which will allow enough room to mount my radius arm wedges without modification to the housing. ill be posting some pics on the suspension setup as i get through it.

I can't believe I didn't see this thread sooner. I'll be watching this one!

K, NEED HELP. i figure caster angle is more important than pinion angle on the front so what do i set up for? if it matters i think ill be running a high angle bigalow d/s (double cardan) ive never set up a front from scratch so any input would be great

You remove the knuckles from the axle tubes, rotate them and get them rewelded. There's a few guys in town who can do it properly, I'll see if I can wrangle up a few names/numbers for ya if you don't feel up to doin it yourself.

I dont think im gonna get that carried away, was more curiouse about proper angle for castor as is. i dont think ill need to rotate knuckles given it is a high pinion. kinda just looking for a happy medium for now. castor isnt critical as it will be trailer queen with full hydro wich pretty much eliminates the "shopping cart" syndrome. from the research ive done it seems somewhere between 8-12 degrees final should be ok?? let me know what you think

kinda been slacking the last month or so on the build, had to get the bronco ready for the season so i have a rig to beat in the meantime. should have some pics of the front axle/suspension setup soon
